Trust, Impact, Leadership & Scale

Social entrepreneur, design strategist, and advisor working at the intersection of climate, human development, and technology.

For more than two decades I've built and scaled organizations, advised governments and companies, and led global initiatives — from renewable energy access to non electrified communities through and with women, to designing digital learning systems, to AI for social innovation at the World Economic Forum, to protecting glacier biodiversity and advising the United Nations on how to synergise climate and Sustainable Development Goal outcomes.

My work today runs across a portfolio of ventures and platforms, each addressing a piece of the same challenge: building systems that work for people and planet.

Proximity, Authenticity & Curiosity

We nurture, design & scale courageous solutions to the interconnected challenges facing people and planet. My umbrella company, founded in 2010, Step Up Advisers - architects bold partnerships, impact, growth and equity strategies — working with corporates, social enterprises, and governments across 90+ countries in the global south.

Project 01

Leading the Global Coalition on AI & Social Innovation, convened by The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship at the World Economic Forum. We are working to mobilise USD 500 million in financial and non financial resources by 2030 to put social innovators at the centre of the AI transition — with access to capital, compute, best-in-class innovation resources and partnerships; through structural decision-making power and an innovator-led governance model.

Launching at the UN General Assembly, September 2026.

Project 02

Coaching the Finalists and Winners of The Earthshot Prize. We are honoured to work with an incredible group of organisations who have all become finalists or winners of the Earthshot Prize. From reworking governance to strategic advisory, financial deep dives, route to scale, systems networking and leadership strengthening- we are committed to helping these game changing solutions and their leaders; reach their potential and ambition.

Project 03

Baseline Global Glacier Challenge:

Glaciers are not just melting ice — they are living libraries of biodiversity.

Project Baseline is a global scientific and citizen-led initiative to document the hidden biodiversity of the world's glaciers before they disappears. Using environmental DNA (eDNA) technology, the project collects genetic material from glacier ice, water, and soil to identify microorganisms invisible to the naked eye — creating the world's first global eDNA biodiversity baseline for glaciers, before that biodiversity is lost forever.

The project launched in Peru (August 2025)and is expanding across six continents, with future sites in the Himalayas, Africa, the Americas, and Antarctica. It feeds into the long-term Global Cryomicrobiome Initiative, a Switzerland-based effort to safeguard glacier biodiversity in a biobank for future climate, medicine, and sustainability research.

I'm part of the international coalition behind the project, alongside elite mountaineer and explorer Sophie Lavaud & Glaciologist Heidi Sevestre, EPFL's ALPOLE Glacier and Poles research centre, glaciologist Dr. Tom Battin, eDNA specialists Nature Metrics, and sustainability impact specialists bloomUp — connecting science with exploration, leadership, and public engagement.

This initiative aligns with the UN International Year of Glaciers' Preservation (2025) and the start of the UN Decade of Action for Cryospheric Research (2025–2034).

Aotearoa -The Lighthouse Project.

A collaboration with Mattias Klum

Photography, Art, Book, Community Engagement, Maori Youth Photographer Development

New Zealand is not simply a beautiful backdrop for a conservation story — it is one of the most biologically singular places on Earth, and that singularity is exactly what makes its restoration work scientifically and symbolically significant.

The film, Restoring the Balance proved that one degraded farm, The Tahi Estate could be rebuilt into a living ecosystem within a generation, and that the resulting film could move people who would never otherwise think about soil health or bird reintroduction.

The Lighthouse Project, asks a larger question of the same place: what does it look like when that same patience and rigour is applied across an entire nation — its land, its surrounding seas, and the people who tend both — and documented by one of the world's most trusted visual storytellers of the natural world, Mattias Klum? How can we use the power of visual imagery to inspire policy change and community engagement.

New Zealand already has the scientific case to be a lighthouse: an 80-million-year evolutionary isolation chamber, the world's greatest concentration of seabirds, a uniquely mammal-free evolutionary history, and a national restoration ambition matched by very few countries. What it has lacked is a single, comprehensive, internationally credible body of work that makes that case visible, memorable and usable by the people who can act on it.

As a Global Ambassador, speaker and supporting facilitator, I am fully committed to supporting transformational leadership through all my work.

At Mountain Path & Mountain Path Switzerland, we work with more than 100 companies, outstanding universities and individuals to help support their leadership journey in this time of particular volatility, ambiguity, uncertainty and complexity

We use the mountains as a source of inspiration and experimentation to bring out the individual and collective leadership qualities needed to adapt, be resilient and most importantly understand how better to strengthen your entire team’s ability to meet this moment with strategic advantage, leaving teams that embody trust, dedication and singular vision. LEARN FORM ALTITUDE.

We offer inspirational speakers, workshops, residential experiences and serious games by those whose accomplishments have been built on the same principals they now champion on your behalf.

  • "Everything I have learned working alongside communities on the front lines of change points to one truth: the economy we need must operate within the limits of our planet, unlock the potential of all people, and create value that sustains itself. That transition is not a distant ideal — it is the work of now."
